What is setting powder?
Setting powder is designed to be used with your foundation as a way to lock in, or “set,” your makeup for the day, keep it in place even against the elements. It is the finishing touch and gives your face a matte look. Younique’s setting powder is translucent, so it will work with any skin tone and doesn’t need a color match. And because it is also weightless, it won’t add a heavy or cakey feeling on your skin. And did I mention there are also optical diffusers for a soft focus? It’s like wearing your favorite camera filter out with you!
How do I apply setting powder?
When you are done applying your primer, concealer, foundation, and rest of your makeup, use either a setting powder brush or powder puff brush to apply the setting powder. Tap any excess off the brush so you don’t use more setting powder than necessary. Start from the center of your face and work your way outward.
If you want to go with little to no makeup, you can also apply setting powder directly to your skin for that soft focus finish.
This powder can also be used to “bake” your makeup, which means using a light powder under your eyes, on your cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, chin, and forehead for 10-30 minutes to allow body heat to “cook” it before applying foundation. You can also use it as a primer before you start applying the rest of your makeup. And if you’re looking to hide any mid-day shing from your T-zone, this setting powder can help with that, too.
