Younique started 5 years ago on November 1, 2012.
It was an exciting night when it first launched, I was there as presenter #79 with about 100 other ladies from around the United States counting down to midnight Pacific- which is still when our new month starts today.
Except I lived in Hawaii at the time and it was still Halloween night, so I was out with my kids trick or treating when it went Live even a little bit early! We were so excited about the new products- a 2-step mascara with fibers, mineral eyeshadows, mineral foundation, similar to what I was already using and mineral blush with brushes to apply each with. We also had accessories when the business started before they went all cosmetics and skin care- which was a great choice and really helped the business take off.
Back then joining Younique was something new and we knew very little before we got started except that it would have cosmetics and we got business supplies in our kit. That was Younique then.
Younique Today
Today the kit comes with a myriad of cosmetics, skin care and samples for your personal use and testimonials and to show your friends, family and VIPs the ins and outs of applying and using the products. The kit has always been $99, but the contents change with each catalog release to incorporate the new products or when they have special kits like the current Race to 1 Million- meaning it will stay until we hit our 1 Millionth presenter. Having almost 1 Million presenters may sound intimidating but this is spread out over 12 countries worldwide and a small number of presenters do it as a full or part-time business, while a larger number do it for personal discount and use. We are currently in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, France, Spain, Hong Kong, Italy and Ireland. Being able to sell in Europe is significant because we have to follow their stricter standards- we are European Union certified across the board with all of our USA manufactured products sold there and distribution centers around the world.
Younique is a fairly easy business to maintain- there are no website fees or annual fees. You get $10 Y-cash (product credit) on your birthday. Your minimum to stay active and keep your account is $125 over the last 90 days, which you get paid a 20-30% commission on. Commissions are paid within 3-4 hours of each sale and put in an account which you have a debit card to use after your first $250 is sales are completed. If you don’t get that far, you can transfer the money to your own account for a small fee.
Each month we have a Customer Kudos or special. We build team parties and events around the Kudos so that our customers know the specials and the ways to use the product. They also throw in other Business Booster offers mid-month to help boost our sales- free shipping and double party points are some of my favorites.
There are two major milestones to work on once you join Younique:
- Yellow Status which is achieved by having your first $500 in sales, this gets you a promotion to 25% commission on all sales, and
- Fast Start Bonus, which is a 90-day program to give you a head start on your team growth (3 presenters) and sales ($1500). Fast Start has changed from when Younique began, but it also includes another bonus for reaching Pink status in your first 90 days- Pink status is when you start to make a commission on team sales.
New presenters also have access to a Business Booster Bundle- which is a 33% savings on some of our most popular products and also can be attached to your Launch party and receive commission! This includes Glorious face primer, Skin-perfecting concealer, Touch Liquid Foundation and Setting Spray for $99. Ask me about a Foundation sampler so you can make sure to get the right color.
How do I run my Younique Business?
Younique revolutionized the social selling model. We do our parties ONLINE, we share our products and videos ONLINE and we can take our business and websites with us wherever we go. Your launch party group becomes your VIP group on Facebook and you continue the party in there for your guests and new customers. Hostesses have access to the party rewards for a year from when their party closed, so if they aren’t ready to shop just yet, they can wait until something new comes out or keep adding to their rewards as they party. We have 2 catalog releases a year, March and September so each hostess should be doing at least 2 parties a year with you. We hold our team training in our Secret FB group as well so replays of past training are accessible and only team members who have joined are part of the group. Younique Corporate and our upline Black status leader have a group as well- but we won’t overwhelm you by putting you in all the groups at once, focus on those two milestones and then we can add more when you’re ready.
