In most cases, I can ask you two questions and pick the right shade of Younique Touch foundation.
Those are:
- Do you tan or burn in the sun?
- Is your skin light, medium, or dark? (Usually, we can just look at a picture of you in natural lighting and not have to ask this question)
We have a foundation sampler to help double check if you need confirmation. We also stand behind our products and offer a 14-day Love It guarantee so you can return for full cost (except shipping) or do an exchange.
If you tan in the sun, you have a yellow undertone. Your colors will be Velour (light), Satin (medium/dark), Velvet (dark) or Chenille (deep).
If you burn in the sun, you have a pink undertone. Your colors will be Organza (light), Chiffon (medium), Charmeuse (dark) or Georgette (deep).
If you either both burn and then tan or neither burn or tan, you have a neutral undertone. Your colors will be Scarlet (very light/fair), Taffeta (light/medium), Cashmere (dark), Cypress (deep) or Suede (deepest).
These are the same colors in our foundation line: Touch mineral liquid, loose powder, pressed mineral powder and mineral cream and also the skin perfecting concealer line. You can also use this guide to help pick which contour or Sculpting Trio to get based on having light, medium or dark skin tone.
