Disneyland Package Inclusions
When families ask me if a Disneyland package is worth it, what they really mean is: what do I actually get beyond the room and the tickets? Fair question. Here is what a Disneyland vacation package includes, in plain terms, for both 2026 and 2027 trips, since both are open for booking now.
What counts as a package
A package means you booked your hotel and your park tickets together through the Walt Disney Travel Company. That can be one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian, or Pixar Place Hotel) or one of the Good Neighbor Hotels nearby. There are more than 50 Good Neighbor options, so there is usually one that fits your family’s size and budget. Same package structure, either way.
The tickets
Everyone ages 3 and over on the reservation gets a Disneyland eTicket for 2 to 5 days, depending on what you choose. Base tickets are one park per day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. You can upgrade to Park Hopper tickets, which let you start in one park and cross over to the other later the same day.
Two things families forget: you still need a park reservation for each day, on top of the ticket, and reservations are limited. Booking a package, even at a Disneyland Resort hotel, does not guarantee them. This is one of the first things I take care of when a client books, because it is the easiest detail to lose track of. Package tickets expire 13 days after first use.
Magical Extras
This is the part most people never hear about, and it comes with every package at no extra cost.
Magical Extras Savings. You get 10% off at many participating dining and merchandise locations in the Downtown Disney District. You show the voucher from your Travel ePackage at the register. It will not make or break a budget, but Downtown Disney is where a lot of families eat on arrival night, so it does get used.
Pin and lanyard. Every guest ages 3 and over gets a collectible Walt Disney Travel Company pin and lanyard. Designs vary and they are only available with a package. Small thing, but kids love arriving with something already in hand.
For 2026 arrivals, the Magical Extras vouchers stay valid through your hotel checkout day or January 15, 2027, whichever comes first. For 2027 arrivals, that date is January 15, 2028.
One extra for Disneyland Resort hotel stays
If you stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, your stay also includes one complimentary entry to an eligible Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction, good at either park on one day of your stay. Longtime visitors, take note: this replaced Early Entry, which is retired. Good Neighbor packages do not include the Lightning Lane entry, but they include everything else on this page.
How your documents arrive
There is no packet in the mail. Your tickets, itinerary, and Magical Extras vouchers arrive together in a Travel ePackage, delivered to your Disney account 3 days before you arrive, once the package is paid in full. You will also get an email with a link to it. My standing advice: link your reservation to your account as soon as you book, not the week of the trip, so nothing is scrambled at the last minute. Packages can be booked up to 2 days before arrival.
The booking terms, in plain English
A package books with a $200 deposit when you are more than 30 days out, and the balance is due 30 days before arrival. Booking inside 30 days means paying in full up front. Cancel 30 or more days out and what you paid comes back, apart from any third-party or nonrefundable pieces. Cancel 4 to 29 days out and there is a $200 fee per package. Inside 3 days, the package price is nonrefundable. That 30-day flexibility is a big part of why I steer families to packages in the first place.
2027 is open too
Disneyland packages for 2027 arrivals opened in August 2026, so if your trip is next year, everything on this page applies, with the 2027 voucher date above. The first day of a trip can be booked up to 499 days out, so the latest 2027 dates roll open as the window moves.
What a package does not include
Flights are never part of a Disneyland package, and neither is transportation to or from the airport. Once you land, you still need a plan for getting to your hotel: a shuttle, a rideshare, or a rental car, all booked separately. The good news is that Disneyland is close to several airports and the hotels are close to the parks, so this leg is short. It is just not in the package price, and families are surprised by that often enough that it is worth saying out loud.
I cover which airport to fly into and every way to reach the hotels in my guide to getting from the airport to Disneyland.
My honest take
The package itself is mostly about simplicity. One booking, one payment schedule, and the extras ride along free. If you are comparing a package against booking a Good Neighbor room and tickets separately, price both. Sometimes separate wins by a little, sometimes the package does, and the pin, lanyard, and Downtown Disney savings are only in the package column. That comparison is exactly the kind of thing I run for clients before they commit, because the answer changes with dates and party size.
If you are thinking about Disneyland and want me to price it both ways, reach out through my quote page and I will lay the two side by side.
