The old days of paper maps and waiting in line to ask a Cast Member what’s open are gone. These days, your phone is your most important packing item, and which apps you need depends on which Disney trip you’re taking. Download these at home, log in, and link your tickets and reservations before you leave. Airport Wi-Fi is not the time to discover your password doesn’t work.
1. My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World)
If you’re going to Disney World, this is the one app that runs your whole trip: park tickets, hotel reservation, dining reservations, mobile food orders, Lightning Lane purchases and return times, PhotoPass photos, bus wait times, and mobile merchandise checkout. You can even chat with a Cast Member in the app. Link everything before you go, tickets, resort stay, dining, so the plans show up in one place.
2. Disneyland app (Disneyland Resort)
Same idea, west coast version. Park tickets, Lightning Lane, dining reservations, mobile food orders, PhotoPass, and park maps with current wait times. If you’re doing both coasts in one year, yes, you need both apps, they don’t talk to each other.
3. Disney Cruise Line Navigator
This one is non-negotiable for a Disney cruise. Before you sail, it holds your countdown and check-in documents. Onboard, where it works on the ship’s Wi-Fi without a paid internet package, it’s your daily schedule of activities, dining menus, character appearance times, and deck plans, plus messaging with your travel party. Download it before embarkation day and log in while you still have regular cell service.
4. Lyft (Walt Disney World)
This one’s a little different, it’s not a Disney app at all, but you’ll want it for a Walt Disney World trip. Minnie Vans, Disney’s polka-dot ride service, are booked right through the Lyft app, and it’s the easiest way to grab a ride between the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Download it before you go and have your payment method set up.
One to skip: Play Disney Parks used to hold this spot on my list, but Disney permanently retired it on September 16, 2026, it’s gone from the app stores and logins no longer work, so save your home-screen space for the four apps above.
One more thing before you go
