Walt Disney World Package Inclusions: What You Actually Get

“What does the package include?” is the first question almost every family asks me, and it deserves a straight answer. A Walt Disney World package is not a bundle of mystery perks. It is your room and your tickets booked together, with a few genuinely useful extras riding along. Here is the whole picture, covering 2026 trips and the 2027 trips that are open for booking now.

The basics every package includes

Your resort room and your park tickets, on one reservation. You pick the resort, from the Value resorts up through the Deluxes, and the ticket type that fits your family: base tickets for one park per day, Park Hopper if your crew likes to move around, or tickets with the water parks and sports option. One reservation, one deposit, one final payment date. That simplicity is the real product. Each person also gets a keepsake luggage tag, which kids treat as the first souvenir of the trip.

A $200 deposit holds it. You do not pay for the whole trip up front. A Walt Disney World package books with a $200 deposit, and the balance is not due until 30 days before you arrive. You can make payments of any size along the way. For families planning around time off and school calendars, that breathing room matters more than any single perk on this list.

If you are still sorting the timing, see how to plan ahead for Walt Disney World.

Flexibility if plans change. Cancel 30 or more days before arrival and what you paid comes back, apart from any third-party or nonrefundable pieces. Inside that window a $200 fee applies, and the day before arrival the full package price applies. Life with kids is unpredictable, and I steer families toward packages partly because of that 30-day line. Prices are not guaranteed until you book, but once you do, your rate is locked.

Magical Extras, the part nobody mentions

Every package also comes with Magical Extras, Disney’s included extras, at no added cost. You will need your Magical Extras Savings Card to use them. The two families actually use:

Miniature golf. You get 4 vouchers per package, each good for one 18-hole round at Disney’s Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens mini golf courses. That covers a family of four for a full round, free. Arrival night is a great time for it, when everyone is too excited to sleep but you are saving the park tickets for full days.

ESPN Wide World of Sports. You also get 4 vouchers per package for general admission to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on an event day.

On top of the vouchers, the Savings Card carries discounts at select locations around Disney Springs and elsewhere on property, including 10% off at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. The mini golf and sports vouchers expire at midnight on your checkout day, so do not save the mini golf for the drive home.

The 2026 headline: kids ages 3 to 9 get a free dining plan

This is the biggest package news of 2026. For 2026 arrivals, when the adults on a package purchase a Disney Dining Plan, every child ages 3 to 9 on that package gets the same dining plan free. Gratuities are not included, and kids order from the children’s menu where one is available, but for a family with two kids in that age range this can take hundreds of dollars off the food budget. If you were on the fence about a dining plan, run the numbers with the kids free before you decide. I do this math with clients on every 2026 quote now.

What changes for 2027

2027 packages are open for booking now, and most of this page carries over: same $200 deposit structure, same Magical Extras with the mini golf and sports vouchers. Two things change. First, there are three dining plans in 2027 instead of two: the Quick-Service plan, the Table-Service plan, and a new Deluxe Table-Service plan for families who want most meals covered. Second, the free kids’ dining plan does not return for 2027. Instead, buying a dining plan with a 2027 package saves up to 20% on dining for kids ages 3 to 9. Still a real saving, just a smaller one, so the dining plan math is worth redoing rather than assuming last year’s answer.

Perks that come with staying on property

These belong to Disney resort guests generally, package or not, but they are part of why the package route makes sense:

  • Early Theme Park Entry. Resort guests enter any theme park 30 minutes early, every day.
  • Earlier Lightning Lane booking. Resort guests can book Lightning Lane selections 7 days before arrival, ahead of everyone else.
  • Free transportation and parking. Buses, boats, monorail, and the Skyliner between resorts and parks, and standard parking is free for resort guests.
  • Dining reservations for your whole stay. At your 60-day mark you can book dining for the length of your trip at once, instead of day by day.
  • Summer bonus. In summer 2026, resort guests also got free admission to a Disney water park on their check-in day.

What a package does not include

Flights are never part of a Walt Disney World package, and neither is transportation to or from the airport. Memory Maker, the photo package, can be added, and I usually recommend pricing it, because buying it ahead costs less than buying it during the trip. Travel protection is optional. If it is not listed on your confirmation, it is not included, and I am always happy to walk through a confirmation line by line so there are no surprises.

I walk through every option, with honest pros and cons for families, in my guide to getting from Orlando Airport to Walt Disney World.

My honest take

Book the package for the structure: the $200 deposit, the pay-over-time runway, the 30-day flexibility, and in 2026, the free kids’ dining plans if your family qualifies. Treat the Magical Extras as a bonus you actually use, mini golf on arrival night and the savings card in your pocket at Disney Springs. If you want me to price your dates and show you exactly what your package would include, send me a quote request and I will build it out.
